Terms and conditions
Mix Visuals is a trading name of Cart Assist Limited. See also our privacy policy.
1Who we are
Mix Visuals is a trading name of Cart Assist Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 09557701. Our registered office is 4 Capricorn Centre, Cranes Farm Road, Basildon, Essex, SS14 3JJ, and our trading address is Acres Wild, Borough Green Road, Ightham, TN15 9HS. Our VAT number is GB240672619.
You can contact us at hello@mixvisuals.com. In these terms "we", "us" and "our" mean Cart Assist Limited trading as Mix Visuals, and "you" means the person using mixvisuals.com.
2These terms
These terms apply whenever you use mixvisuals.com, including the free preview, an account, a pay-as-you-go order, a Creator or Pro plan, and the affiliate scheme. You'll be asked to accept them when you create an account and again at checkout. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your personal data.
Most of our customers are individual DJs buying as consumers. If you're buying for a business (a label, a promoter, an agency or your own company), section 20 explains which parts apply differently.
3Who can use Mix Visuals
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account or use the free preview. If you're 16 or 17, you need permission from a parent or guardian before you buy anything, and the payment must be made with their agreement.
You must give us accurate details and keep your sign-in private. You're responsible for what happens under your account. If you think someone else has used it, tell us straight away.
4What we do
You upload a recording of your DJ mix. Our system analyses the music (its beats, drops and track changes) and builds a video to match it from our library of visual "worlds" and "stories". We then send the finished video back to you to download. Depending on what you order, that includes a full-length video, a phone version, three 30-second vertical shorts, and any add-ons you choose.
We only add visuals to the audio you give us. We don't publish, broadcast, distribute or upload your mix anywhere. What you do with the finished video is up to you. If we later add features such as uploading straight to YouTube or other platforms, extra terms will apply, and we'll show them before you use the feature.
We aim to have videos ready within about an hour of approval. Before you pay we'll show an estimate, which is longer when there's a queue. These times are targets, not guarantees.
5The visuals are made with AI
The footage in every Mix Visuals video, on our website and in our promotional material is created with artificial intelligence tools and assembled automatically by our software. It isn't filmed, drawn or edited by hand, and it contains no third-party copyrighted footage.
AI-generated imagery isn't perfect. You may see small oddities, such as an unusual hand, a shape that briefly morphs, a texture that doesn't quite hold, or movement that doesn't follow real-world physics. These are part of how the medium works today, and they don't count as a defect. The approval preview (section 6) is your chance to see the video and ask for changes before you're charged. We'll fix genuine technical faults, as section 11 explains, but we won't treat each visual detail as a fault.
The footage isn't intended to depict any real person. If you think a face looks like a real, identifiable person, tell us and we'll replace that shot.
6How an order works
- Free preview. Anyone can upload a mix and get a free 2-minute preview, with no charge and no obligation. We take the first 30 minutes of the mix to make it. The preview is low resolution, watermarked and can only be watched on our website (you can share its watch page, but you can't download it). An email address or mobile number is optional, and we use it only to send you the preview unless you also tick the marketing box.
- Choosing your video. You choose your options (worlds, titles, logo, resolution and add-ons) and we show you the total price, including VAT, before you commit.
- The card hold. When you press "Make my film", we place a hold for the total on your card through Stripe. This checks the card is valid. It's not a charge, and no money leaves your account at this point. On a plan, the minutes you need are reserved from your balance instead.
- The approval preview. When the video is rendered, we show you an approval preview of up to 5 minutes: every drop and world change, cut together, low resolution and watermarked. You can approve it, or ask for a change and tell us where.
- Approval and payment. When you approve, we take the payment from the held amount (or draw the reserved minutes) and release the full video for download.
- If you don't respond. We'll email you a reminder 24 hours after the approval preview is ready. If you haven't approved or asked for a change 48 hours after it's ready, the order is approved automatically and charged.
- Long-running holds. A card hold lasts up to 7 days. If your order is still waiting for approval on day 6, we renew the hold on your saved card. If we can't, we'll email you a link to confirm again. If you don't confirm within 24 hours, we cancel the order and release the hold and any reserved minutes.
Until you approve, you can cancel an order at any time. We'll release the hold and you won't pay anything.
7Your right to cancel
If you're a consumer, the law usually gives you 14 days to cancel a contract for digital content or services bought online. Because your video is made to order and delivered digitally, we can only start once you agree. When you press "Make my film", you'll be asked to tick a box confirming that:
- you want us to start making your video straight away, within the 14-day cancellation period; and
- you understand you'll lose your right to cancel once the finished video is released to you for download.
In practice our process gives you more than the law requires: you see the approval preview and pay nothing unless you approve it (or it's approved automatically under section 6).
For a Creator or Pro plan, you can cancel within 14 days of first subscribing and get a refund. If you've already used minutes in that time, we'll take off the pay-as-you-go value of the minutes used.
8Prices, payments, plans and minutes
Prices are shown on our pricing page and in your basket. They're in pounds sterling and include VAT where it applies. Your bank may charge for paying in pounds from another currency. We may change prices for future orders, and we'll give plan customers at least 30 days' notice before a plan price goes up.
All payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details. If you tick "Save this card for revisions and top-ups", Stripe keeps the card so you can pay for later revisions and top-ups in one step. You can remove a saved card at any time from your account.
Pay as you go. You pay per order, based on the length of your mix (in minutes) and any add-ons you choose. There's a minimum charge per order, shown at checkout.
Plans. Creator and Pro are monthly subscriptions, paid in advance, that include a set number of minutes each month plus the perks listed on the pricing page. A plan renews automatically every month until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in your account. The plan stops at the end of the month you've paid for, and we don't refund part months.
Minutes and credits. Your account has one balance, counted in minutes (also called credits). Plan minutes, top-ups, free minutes from codes and affiliate credit all go into it. Unused minutes roll over for up to 3 months from when they were added, and the oldest are used first. Minutes from a free code expire at the end of the third month after the month you redeem it. If you cancel a plan, the minutes already in your balance stay usable until they expire. Minutes and credits have no cash value and can't be exchanged for money or transferred to another account.
Top-ups. If an order on a plan needs more minutes than you have, the shortfall is charged at the pay-as-you-go rate. It's shown in your basket before you commit.
Codes. We sometimes give out codes for free minutes or discounts. Each code can be used once, for the purpose and within the period stated. We can cancel a code that has been shared publicly against its terms, or used fraudulently.
9Who owns what
Your music stays yours. We claim no ownership of the audio you upload or of your logo.
Our footage stays ours. Cart Assist Limited owns (or is licensed to use) the worlds, stories, footage, palettes, software and everything else we use to make your video, along with the Mix Visuals name and branding.
Your right to use your video. Once your order is approved and paid for, we grant you a permanent, worldwide, royalty-free right to use your finished video, and its shorts and other files, for any purpose, including commercial use such as monetised YouTube channels, social media, live events, club screens and promotion. You can edit, cut and repost it.
This right isn't exclusive. The same worlds and footage are shared across all our customers, so parts of your video may appear in other people's videos. What makes yours unique is the way it's built and timed to your own mix. You may not take the footage out of your video to sell or license it separately (for example as stock footage or VJ loops), or use it to train AI models.
The free 2-minute preview and the approval preview are only for you to view on our site, and aren't licensed for any other use.
10Your music and what you upload
You're responsible for the music you upload and for how you use the finished video. By uploading, you confirm that:
- you own the recording, or have all the permissions you need (from artists, labels, publishers and collecting societies) to use it in the way you intend;
- using the video in the way you plan won't break anyone else's rights or any law; and
- the upload contains nothing unlawful, hateful, threatening, sexually explicit involving minors, or otherwise abusive.
Clearing the music, and paying any licence fees, for anywhere you publish or play the video is your responsibility. Platforms such as YouTube may detect copyrighted music in your video and block it, mute it or take its revenue. That's between you, the platform and the rights holders, and isn't a fault in our service.
If someone makes a claim against us because of music or other material you uploaded, or the way you used your video, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and legal costs arising from that claim. We'll tell you about the claim promptly and let you have a say in how it's handled.
We don't check or screen uploads for copyright. If a rights holder tells us that material on our systems infringes their rights, we may remove it and suspend the order while we look into it. Rights holders can contact us at hello@mixvisuals.com.
We use your audio only to make your video and the deliverables you ordered. We don't publish it, share it with other customers, or use it to train AI models.
11Revisions, faults and refunds
Revisions. A revision changes up to two scenes in a video you've approved. For example, you can move a scene to a different world, shift a transition, or drop the story. Revisions are priced on our pricing page and in your account, and plans include a monthly number. A change that needs new footage is outside a revision, and we'll quote for it separately. Revisions are possible for as long as your video's files are kept under your plan or order (section 12).
Faults. We give refunds only for a technical malfunction, or for a quality problem with what we delivered, for example:
- a file that won't download or play, or is corrupted;
- visuals that fall out of sync with your audio;
- missing sections, shorts or ordered add-ons;
- a resolution or format different from what you paid for; or
- audio that's damaged or doesn't match your upload.
Tell us within 14 days of delivery, and include the timestamp if you can. We'll first try to fix the problem by re-rendering. If we can't, we'll refund the order, either to your card or as minutes back in your balance. If a render fails before delivery, we release the hold or return the reserved minutes, and you pay nothing.
What isn't a fault. We don't give refunds for a change of mind after approval, for personal taste in the visuals once you've approved them, for the AI-imagery details described in section 5, or for problems caused by the audio you uploaded (for example a poor recording or silence).
Your legal rights. None of this affects your statutory rights as a consumer. Digital content must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. For impartial advice, contact Citizens Advice.
12Downloads, storage and deletion
Finished videos are kept for you to download for:
- 7 days on pay as you go;
- 1 month on the Creator plan; and
- 3 months on the Pro plan.
We email you a reminder before the files are deleted: 2 days before on pay as you go, and 5 days before on a plan. Your account also shows each video's deletion date. You can pay to keep files for longer from your downloads page.
Your uploaded audio is deleted 7 days after your video is delivered. Audio from a mix you never order with is deleted 7 days after upload.
Download and back up your files. We keep no backups. Once a file has been deleted it can't be recovered, and we can't make revisions that need it. We're not responsible for files lost after their deletion date.
13Showing your video in our gallery
If you'd like your video in the Mix Visuals gallery, you can opt in by giving us a link to it on YouTube or another public video site. We'll show your link (with the title, your DJ name and a thumbnail from that site). We never host the video ourselves, so it plays from the site where you published it.
Opting in is your choice. It gives us permission to show the link, your DJ name and that thumbnail on our website and social channels while the link is listed. You can ask us to remove it at any time, and we'll do so within 7 days. We may decline or remove a listing at our discretion.
14The affiliate scheme
The affiliate scheme is open now: any account holder can use it, and your personal referral link is in your account, under Refer & earn. When someone new to Mix Visuals follows your link and creates an account within 60 days, you earn a reward on every payment they make in their first 12 months, for as long as you remain in the scheme. If they followed more than one link, the first one counts. Sign-ups through your link are recorded straight away, and rewards start from their first paid order. You choose the reward:
- cash: 15% of each payment, excluding VAT, paid monthly through Stripe once your balance passes £20; or
- credit: 20% of each payment, excluding VAT, added to your Mix Visuals balance straight away.
Rewards are only earned on payments that have been received and not refunded or charged back. If a payment is refunded, we take the matching reward back. You can't refer yourself or another account you control, pay for advertising that bids on the Mix Visuals name, or promote your link with spam or misleading claims. If any of these happen, we can withhold rewards and remove you from the scheme. If you take cash rewards, you're responsible for any tax on them. Before you can be paid, Stripe will ask for the identity and bank details it needs. We may change or close the scheme with 30 days' notice, and we'll pay any rewards already earned.
15Using the service fairly
You agree not to:
- misuse or try to break into the service;
- get around upload limits, watermarks or the free-preview rules (for example by opening several accounts to collect free minutes);
- scrape or copy our library; or
- resell access to the service without a written agency agreement with us.
If you do, we may suspend or close your account, with notice where that's reasonable. We'll refund any unused paid minutes unless the account was closed for fraud.
16Changes to the service
We add new worlds and features regularly, and may change or retire existing ones. If we make a change that significantly reduces what you've already paid for, we'll tell you, and you can cancel and get a refund for the part you haven't used. The service may sometimes be unavailable for maintenance or for reasons outside our control.
17Our liability to you
If we fail to keep to these terms, we're responsible for loss or damage you suffer that was a foreseeable result of our failure. Our total liability to you for any order is limited to the price you paid for that order. For an order paid with plan minutes, that's the pay-as-you-go value of those minutes when you placed it.
We're not liable for indirect or consequential loss. This includes lost profits, income, bookings, gigs, followers or business opportunities, and losses caused by a platform blocking, muting or taking down your video.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit. In particular, nothing limits your statutory rights as a consumer, including your rights where digital content we supply damages your device or other content.
18Closing your account
You can close your account at any time from your account settings or by emailing us. If you're on a plan, cancel it first. When your account closes, any unused minutes are lost and your files are deleted on the timetable in our privacy policy.
19Transfer of the business
We may transfer our rights and duties under these terms to another company, including a new company set up to run Mix Visuals, or one that buys the Mix Visuals business. If we do, we'll tell you in writing beforehand. Your rights under these terms, including your rights to the videos you've received, your remaining minutes and your plan, won't be reduced as a result. If you're unhappy with the transfer, you can cancel your plan and we'll refund any part of the current month you haven't used. You can't transfer your account or your rights under these terms to anyone else without our written agreement.
20If you're buying for a business
If you use Mix Visuals for a business, the consumer rights in sections 7 and 11 (cancellation and statutory rights) don't apply to you, but our fault and refund policy in section 11 still does. All other terms apply, including the liability limit in section 17, which also excludes losses of profit, revenue, goodwill and data. Agencies wanting team seats, bulk minutes or white-label videos need a separate agency agreement, which will be available at public launch.
21Features in development
Some features are still being tested and may change or be withdrawn at short notice. Videos made with free codes are provided as they are. If you give us feedback (by phone, email or WhatsApp), we'll use it to improve Mix Visuals, as our privacy policy explains.
22Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example to reflect new features, prices or legal changes. We'll tell account holders by email at least 30 days before a change that affects them. Changes don't apply to orders you've already placed. If you don't accept a change, you can cancel your plan before it takes effect.
23Complaints, law and courts
If something goes wrong, email hello@mixvisuals.com and we'll reply within 5 working days. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
If you're a consumer, you can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also use your local courts. If you live elsewhere, you keep any protection the law of your own country gives you that can't be changed by agreement.
If a court decides that part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
